Begin summer with a wonderful gathering of friends and family and visitors on Saturday, June 22 at 4 pm.
If you have a friendly pet who likes to be the star of the show, there will be a “Pet Parade” at 3PM!
The festivities that start at 4 PM will be:
Bingo! (Mary Ellen says you want to win the prizes she has..)
Barbecue! (If you have ever tried Larry Cole’s home smoked barbecue…you know you want to be there!)
Bullseye! (Corn hole contests, fellowship, and fun!)
Bring a lawn chair and your appetite and we look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
Our children have been handing out bracelets and collecting money for the last few months for “No More Malaria.” Bishop Goodpaster announced before the offering that last year this time, a child died from malaria related causes every 30 seconds. This year, because of world wide efforts, it has been cut in half. A child dies from malaria every 60 seconds. While that is an improvement, we look at our children and realize we can do better.
We are so proud of our children and their dedication to helping other children! Our offering at annual conference on Thursday morning raised over $16,000 for efforts to erase this silent killer. Please consider going to the www.wnccumc.org website and donating to “No More Malaria” online.
Arthur and Barbara Jenkins are hosting a soup beans and cornbread feast in their home Sunday night as we gather to worship and holy conference together.
One of the annual conference speakers yesterday reminded us that Jesus did most of his teaching to his disciples around the dinner table in someone’s home!
Bring a dish if you can, and meet at the church at 6:15 PM and we will carpool up to their house.
